Privacy Policy
The short version
Your screenshots stay on your device. An image is sent to our server only when you click an AI button, it is processed to produce your result, and it is not stored. We do not track you, sell data, or run ads.
What the extension processes on your device
When you capture a page, SnapScope takes screenshots of the visible page, stitches them, and stores the result in your browser's local storage so the result tab can display it. The most recent captures are kept locally and older ones are deleted automatically. None of this leaves your computer.
What is sent to our server, and when
Only when you explicitly click one of the AI buttons (Extract text, Summarize, or Tables to CSV), the extension sends:
- A downscaled copy of the capture you are viewing
- A random identifier for your installation, used to enforce the monthly usage limit
Our server forwards the image to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the result, returns it to you, and does not retain the image or the result. Anthropic processes the request under its commercial terms.
Payments
Pro subscriptions are handled by ExtensionPay and Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe's handling of payment data is described in the Stripe privacy policy; ExtensionPay's in the ExtensionPay privacy policy. We receive only your payment status and the email you used to pay, which is how your Pro access is recognized.
What we never collect
- Your browsing history or the pages you visit
- Captures you don't send to AI
- Analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising identifiers
- Names, addresses, or anything beyond the payment email above
